As threats to businesses and individuals continue to rise, PwC's Global Forensic Services team on Wednesday hosted its first local 'Global Investigations, Data Security, Anti-Bribery & Corruption Breakfast'.

The event tackled a wide range of issues, including the current global threat landscape, latest developments in global enforcement trends, as well as tangible and proactive ways to be better prepared to guard against the unknown, including the fight against fraud, data breaches.

"As the business world rapidly becomes more complex, data-saturated and globalised, the risks of fraud, corruption, regulations and enforcement are all growing. Your organisation's mission critical information is exchanged and stored in increasingly decentralised ways - from computers and servers to mobile devices, cloud storage and the Internet of Things," said Tim Abrahams, PwC director, advisory forensic services.

"This explosion of data creates valuable , but is equaled by significant risks. We're invested in bringing awareness to these issues and equipping businesses and executives with the tools and knowledge needed to help mitigate the inherent risk within the global arena."
