The outgoing Opposition Leader is proposing that a Special Standing Committee on Social Security be established in Parliament, aimed at increasing participation in pension schemes.

She suggests that the Committee should also focus on promoting retirement planning and savings in the nation.

Simpson Miller laments that less than 15 per cent of the population now contributes to a pension scheme:

She further argued that the National Insurance Scheme, which has served the nation for more than 50 years, is not enough.
