#JaBudget2017: Opposition MPs walk out of Parliament
The Government this afternoon passed the 2017-18 Budget with ease after Opposition members walked out of the House of Representatives.
The Finance Minister Audley Shaw was closing his budget presentation when Eastern Westmoreland MP Luther Buchanan raised objections saying some of his utterances were not true.
With that, Opposition members packed up their belongings and walked out even before Shaw could say his final words.
The walk-out culminated a rowdy sitting in which MPs traded harsh words.
At one point, Opposition MPs chanted "roll it back, roll it back, roll it back," as Shaw sought to address concerns about the property tax adjustments.

There had been concern that the passing of the Budget could have presented a challenge if Government MP Derrick Smith was not able to attend.
Smith had been ailing and recently underwent a medical procedure in the United States.
His absence would have meant that the Opposition could have 31 members to vote with 30 Government MPs.
