No lead in curry on local market — Commerce Ministry
The Commerce Ministry is reporting that no evidence of lead has been found in samples of powdered curry being sold in Jamaica.
The ministry says the National Compliance and Regulatory Authority collected 26 samples from 17 companies following a recall of the products by the United States last December.
The samples were tested in January and February.
The Ministry says the Bureau of Standards Jamaica (BSJ) has advised Commerce Minister, Karl Samuda, that the samples were found to be acceptable and without evidence of contamination.
The ministry says the BSJ has formally advised the companies of the results.
