The Ministry of Labour and Social Security called an urgent meeting for Monday amid the threat of industrial action by workers at the Bank of Jamaica (BOJ).

In a release yesterday evening the ministry said it has summoned representatives from BOJ and the Bustamante Industrial Trade Union (BITU) to the meeting set for 10 o’clock Monday morning.

It says the meeting has been called to deal with a 72-hour Notice of Industrial Action issued by the Union.

Workers are reportedly restive because of alleged anomalies in the compensation structure which exists at the Bank.
