Criminals injure cop with grenade in St Ann, hunt on for men

An intense police military operation is underway in St Ann to apprehend two men who allegedly used hand grenades to injure a policeman.

The men being sought are suspects in the recent quadruple murder in Westmoreland.

It’s reported that about 2 o’ clock this morning a police team went to premises in St Ann following intelligence that the men were hiding inside the house.

The men were ordered by the police to surrender.

It is reported that one of the men threw two hand grenades at the police team and then opened gunfire.

One of the grenades reportedly exploded and shrapnel injured a policeman in the chest.

The police returned the gunfire and a shootout allegedly ensued.

The men ran from the house.

A search has since been underway for the men.
