The Gleaner/Power 106 News Centre understands that the corporate area teacher accused of inappropriate behaviour involving a student at school has now secured legal representation and could be turning over himself to the police.

Meanwhile, the child's guardian is demanding transparency in how the school moves to deal with the situation.

The school's principal has reported that the statements have been collected and the reports sent to the Children's Registry.

The guardian said her 16-year-old ward came home crying as she recounted how she was abused by the teacher.

According to the woman, the child said she was instructed to accompany the teacher to a classroom and while there, the teacher sat on a chair and asked for a hug.

The woman said the child agreed to hug the teacher and that's when she was assaulted by the teacher.
