Operations back to normal at Bustamante Hospital for Children - SERHA
The South East Regional Health Authority (SERHA) says normal operations have resumed at the Bustamante Hospital for Children in Kingston.
On Thursday the hospital announced that it was only accepting emergency cases because of industrial action by employees in the medical records department.
The workers resorted to industrial action after one of their colleagues suffered an eye-injury on the job.
However, SERHA says the hospital began offering its full range of services as at 2 o’clock yesterday.
It says Chief Medical Officer Dr Winston De La Haye has met with the management of the hospital and union representatives to discuss the concerns raised by employees and chart the way forward.
SERHA says the management of the hospital is taking steps to address the concerns and to implement measures to further strengthen security systems.
