Police investigators are now at the Jamaica Urban Transit Company's (JUTC) depot in Spanish Town, St Catherine, following the fatal stabbing of a man there this morning.

Head of Corporate Communications at the JUTC Reginald Allen has confirmed that a male member of the canteen staff died after he was stabbed during an altercation with another canteen staff member about 9 o' clock.

A JUTC staff member was also injured as he tried to intervene during the altercation.

The accused man has reportedly been taken into custody by the police.

"It has absolutely nothing to do with the JUTC and JUTC operators. These were canteen workers who had an altercation on the JUTC compound," said Allen.

"It's affecting us in that we did not have any lunch here today and the police are all over the place doing their investigation," added Allen.
