A 25-year-old man and his teenaged sister are now in Police custody following the seizure of a pistol and 69 assorted rounds of ammunition in the Kingston Central Division yesterday.

The Central Police say about 10:10 yesterday morning a police team was patrolling the community when the girl was observed acting suspiciously at the intersection of Luke Lane and Charles Street.

They say she was accosted and searched and a Smith and Wesson pistol along with 16 rounds of ammunition was found.

Follow-up operations were conducted at premises on Luke Lane and an additional 53 rounds of ammunition were seized and a 25-year-old man arrested.

The police say the identities of those in custody are being withheld as detectives continue to investigate.
