Director of corporate communication at the Jamaica Public Service Company Winsome Callum (centre) seems fascinated by the ‘magic’ of the ‘intelligent’ light bulb which provides light without being directly connected to a power source. This was one of the innovative products on display at the recent one-day Expo mounted by FosRich Group at the Jamaica Pegasus in New Kingston. In its thrust to provide innovative lighting, electrical, energy and hardware solutions for the Jamaican market, the FosRich Group of Companies staged an Expo themed Connecting Companies. Securing the Future, at the Jamaica Pegasus hotel in New Kingston recently.

The expo, according to Cecil Foster, managing director at FosRich showcased advances in energy-saving products, lighting and electrical design and hardware product lines.

"At FosRich, we are always aiming to stay ahead of the game. We are aware of the many technological advances that are revolutionising the construction trade. We believe that introducing these to the local market can help to increase efficiency by encouraging those in the trade to reconsider how they select and use building and other material to ensure minimal impact on the environment, while at the same time decreasing the demand for the importation of fuel," Foster said.

always mindful

The company, he said is always mindful of the business and personal needs of consumers. "In these economically challenging times, we believe that it is important to provide our customers with innovations that can save money and save the environment, without minimising the aesthetic appeal of their projects," Foster said.

The expo also introduced international partners as well as their latest products to business leaders, architects, key players in the hotel, construction and building development sectors, as well as the general public.

Some of the exhibitors included Philips, a Fortune 500 company that has pioneered the world-changing development of electric light and LED, and is now leading the way in intelligent lighting systems.

Persons also benefited from presentations and demonstrations by the partners throughout the day.
