The Manchester Police has arrested a female university student from the parish in connection with the recent kidnapping of two businessmen.
The 25-year-old woman is said to be the girlfriend of a top violence producer in Manchester and will be questioned over the weekend in the presence of her lawyer.
According to the Commanding Officer of Manchester Superintendent Wayne Cameron, the female will be charged with conspiracy to kidnap.
Already, one man has been arrested and charged after being caught picking up the $1 million ransom in Mandeville.
The man, Kevaughn Henry, was remanded when he appeared before the Manchester Parish Court on Thursday.
On Thursday March 23, two businessmen were kidnapped by gunmen, tied up and left in a house before being moved to bushes.
The wife of one of the businessmen was contacted and ordered to withdraw $1 million and leave it at a particular location in the town.
Undercover police who were on location arrested the man who showed up to collect the ransom.
The businessmen were later found at a house unharmed.
The gunmen fled the scene.
Cameron is pleading with residents to use the services of the police when travelling with large sums of money for safety.
