Caribbean Cement suspends exports to ease local shortages
Caribbean Cement Company says it has suspended all cement exports as part of ongoing efforts to ease the shortage in the local market.
The announcement by Caribbean Cement Company follows increasing complaints from stakeholders in the construction industry.
The company says the shortage is due to challenges in its packaging operations.
However, it says these challenges are being rectified through a number of initiatives.
One of those initiatives, the company says, is the suspension of exports in order to give priority to the local trade.
Caribbean Cement Company says over the Easter holidays it will embark on a major maintenance overhaul to restore stability in the local market.
