Grant still Acting Police Commish, selection process continues
Acting Police Commissioner Novelette Grant says she has been asked by the Police Service Commission (PSC) to continue serving in the position.
Grant was appointed by the PSC to act as Police Commissioner for a 90-day period starting January 7 this year following the decision by Dr Carl Williams to opt for early retirement.
The 90 days ended yesterday without any word from the PSC on whether a new commission had been selected.
Speaking to The Gleaner/Power106 News Centre today, Grant said she was informed by the PSC that the selection process is still ongoing.
As a result, Grant says she was asked to continue acting as police commissioner until a decision is taken.
