The Manchester police have charged a female university student who is believed to be the girlfriend of an alleged gang leader for the kidnapping of two businessmen in the parish.

She is 25-year-old Rosemarie Moore.

Having been questioned by the police in the presence of her lawyer, she was yesterday charged with kidnapping and conspiracy to kidnap.

The date for her court appearance will be decided tomorrow.

On Thursday, March 23, two businessmen were kidnapped by gunmen, tied up and left in a house before being moved to bushes.

The wife of one of the businessmen was contacted, told to withdraw one million dollars and told to leave it at a particular location in the town.

Undercover police who were on location arrested the man who showed up to collect the ransom.

He has since been remanded in custody and will make another court appearance later this month.

The businessmen were later found at a house unharmed.

The gunmen fled the scene.
