Man charged in connection with bleaching cream bust, 78,000 containers seized

The police have now charged the man held in connection with the seizure of 78,000 containers of assorted bleaching creams in St Andrew.

He’s 45-year-old Chee Guen Chung of Norwood Road, Kingston 8, who is charged for breaches of the Customs, Pharmacy & Dangerous Drug Acts.

The police reported that between midday and 7 o’clock last night a police team carried out a raid at an establishment on Constant Spring Road where the bleaching creams were found.

The police said some of the creams are not registered with the Ministry of Health, while others have been classified as List 2 and List 4 drugs that cannot be sold without a prescription.

Chung was subsequently arrested.
