Finance ministry welcomes new Customs boss

Newly appointed Chief Executive Officer/Commissioner of Customs Velma Ricketts Walker was officially hosted at the Offices of the Ministry of Finance and the Public Service last Tuesday to mark the beginning of her tenure as head of the Jamaica Customs Agency (JCA).

Finance Minister Audley Shaw and Fayval Williams, state minister in the finance ministry, greeted Rickets Walker, who takes the seat with more than 17 years of experience in Customs administration, trade facilitation, risk analysis, strategic planning, international trade, security, compliance and enforcement.

She also served as assistant commissioner, compliance and enforcement, in 2011, with the JCA.
