Alleged extortionist granted bail in Mandeville

Twenty-year-old Sandre Bogle, one of five people charged in connection with an extortion ring in Mandeville, has been granted bail.

Bogle, who is from Top Hill in Manchester, was granted bail in the sum of $200,000 with one or two sureties, when he appeared in the Manchester Parish Court this morning.

Three other alleged extortionists were remanded.

They are: 21-year-old Keeno Powell of Top Hill, Manchester, and 64-year-old Sheila Smith and 21-year-old Beko March; both Free Town, Clarendon.

Bogle and the remandees who are all charged with six counts of extortion and conspiracy to extort, are set to return to court on May 3.

On April 5, their co-accused, 24-year-old Careba Salmon, pleaded guilty to the charges.

She is set to be sentenced on Friday.
