Member of Parliament for Eastern St Thomas Fenton Ferguson whose constituency was severely affected by flood waters and landslides following heavy rains over the weekend, is currently touring the various communities to assess the damage.

Ferguson, who is accompanied by members of the National Works Agency, says he hopes to have roads cleared quickly so that persons and especially those going back to school can move around freely.

Up to yesterday, some communities were marooned by damaged roads that were inundated by water and debris from landslides.

Various community members have since been mobilised to clear some of the roads.

Areas that were affected include Golden Grove, Hordley Crossing, Stokes Hall, Bath, Willowfield and Rowlandsfield.
