A British woman has been arrested and charged after allegedly being held with approximately $3 million worth of cocaine.

Kathleen Morgan, who is of a Birmingham, England address, was accosted by the police yesterday at the Sangster International Airport in St James.

Morgan has been charged with possession of cocaine, dealing in cocaine and attempting to export cocaine.

She’s scheduled to appear in the St James Parish Court on Friday

The police say she was accosted by the detectives on reasonable suspicion of breaches of the Dangerous Drugs Act while attempting to board a flight to London.

The police say her luggage was searched and packages containing white substance resembling cocaine were found in a false compartment.

They say she was arrested and later interviewed in the presence of her lawyer and was subsequently charged.
