MSME Alliance saddened by craft market fire

Fire destroyed the front section of the Kingston Craft Market in downtown Kingston yesterday. Here, the scene is being secured to allow for investigation.

President of the Micro-, Small- and Medium-Sized Enterprises Alliance (MSME Alliance), Donovan Wignall, say he’s saddened by the loss of livelihood by vendors who have been affected by the fire at the Kingston Craft Market.

Yesterday’s fire destroyed 18 shops.

The vendors say they have lost everything.

Losses are still being tallied but are expected to amount to millions of dollars in damage.

The police and the fire department have stated that the early-morning fire was caused by a faulty electrical wire.
