Businessman gets $350,000 bail following carnival night gun incident
Zachary Reid, the corporate area businessman who was caught on tape pointing his licensed firearm at motorists along West King’s House Road in St Andrew on carnival night, has been granted bail.
Reid was granted bail in the sum of $350,000 with two sureties when he appeared in the corporate area gun court this morning.
He has been ordered to surrender his travel documents and is to report to the police on Monday and Friday of each week.
Reid is set to return to court on June 7 on charges of illegal possession of a firearm, resisting arrest, assault and disorderly conduct.
He is being represented by attorneys Tom Tavares Finson and Donahue Martin Jr.
The video footage showed Reid, who was believed to be drunk, dancing and pointing his firearm at vehicles in the middle of West King’s House Road.
The police were later alerted and managed to disarm Reid and arrest him.
