$72 million worth of cocaine seized on ship arriving from Spain
The police say they have intensified their probe into the discovery of approximately $72 million worth of cocaine at Port Bustamante in Kingston.
They say so far no arrests have made in connection with the seizure.
The police say early Sunday morning security personnel at the port observed a suspicious object attached to the hull of one of the ships which arrived in the island on Friday, May 12 from Valencia, Spain.
The police and the Jamaica Customs Contraband Enforcement Team were summoned.
The police say the object was discovered to be a metal canister.
Checks revealed that the canister contained fifty-eight rectangular parcels of cocaine weighing almost 76 kilograms.
