Chairman of the Clarendon Municipal Corporation Winston Maragh says the corporation’s main focus now is to clear the blocked roads in the parish to allow free movement.

Maragh says this needs to be done to allow assessment teams to access to the affected areas.

Maragh and a team from the works department toured sections of the parish yesterday.

Areas in Northern Clarendon such as Pennants, Frankfield, Aenon Town, Thompson Town and Mocho have been severely affected by land slippages.

The main road from Pennants to Frankfield is impassable as loads of sand was dumped onto the road from the Rio Minho which overflowed its banks.

Prospect has also suffered landslides and the roads in sections of Thompson Town are blocked.

Mocho is affected by landslides and Frankfield remains cut off from the rest of the parish.
