The National Works Agency (NWA) says a number of roadways in St Catherine and Clarendon are still impassable as a result of damage from two days of heavy rains.

Communications officer at the NWA Ramona Lawson says the Bog Walk Gorge remains closed to vehicular traffic due to large deposits of debris in the gorge.

She says the road is slippery and unsafe for motorists.

Lawson says every effort is being made to reopen the Bog Walk Gorge later today.

Meanwhile, she says the Rio Magno to Springfield and Pear Tree Grove in St Catherine are closed to vehicular traffic.

So too are the roads from Vanity Fair to Tavern Hill and Zion Hill to Troja.

Motorists are being advised to use alternative routes.
