JPS making headway in electricity restoration
The Jamaica Public Service Company (JPS) says it has made headway in restoring electricity to communities that lost power due to the inclement weather.
In a release, the JPS says the number of persons without power has been reduced from over 24,000 to under six thousand.
The company says the majority of customers who are still without power are located in Clarendon, in the communities of Danks, Frankfield, Alston and surrounding areas.
It says restoration efforts in Clarendon continue to be hampered by the lack of access to the affected areas, as a result of flooding and landslides.
The JPs says it will continue to do everything to restore customers as quickly and safely as possible.
