Director General of the Office of Disaster Preparedness and Emergency Management (ODPEM), Major Clive Davies, says disaster coordinators remain on standby to open shelters and offer relief assistance to persons displaced by the rains.

Major Davies says no shelters are currently opened.

He says the 11 shelters activated between Clarendon and St Catherine earlier this week have since closed.

The ODPEM head says no one has turned up for shelters.

According to him, persons have opted to stay with relatives.
