Long-awaited sexual harassment bill to be sent to Cabinet soon
The long-awaited Sexual Harassment Bill is to be sent to the Legislative Committee of Cabinet shortly.
Minister of Gender Affairs Olivia '' Babsy Grange says the draft legislation is now with the Office of the Chief Parliamentary Counsel.
In her contribution to the Sectoral Debate in the House of Representatives a short while ago, Grange said the amended bill, once approved by the legislative committee, would be taken to Parliament, this parliamentary year.
Grange argued that the bill was critical to protect "all women and men from unwanted sexual advances, requests for sexual favours and crude sexual behaviours that affect quality of life by creating an intimidating, hostile or offensive environment".
