Paulwell selected as Jamaica’s sole observer to the UK Elections
The Leader of Opposition Business and Member of Parliament for Kingston East and Port Royal, Phillip Paulwell, has been selected as the only member of the Jamaican Parliament to be a part of the Commonwealth Parliament Association (CPA) UK Election Assessment Mission to observe the General Election in Britain.
The election will be held next week Thursday, June 8.
CPA Branches were invited to nominate up to four parliamentarians to participate in the Mission as official parliamentary observers.
Paulwell, who is a former minister with responsibility for electoral matters, is one of 30 members of the Mission.
He said he's honoured to represent the Jamaican Parliament.
Paulwell is slated to depart Jamaica and join the Mission tomorrow.
The observer mission runs from June 3 to June 10.
