Deadline today for submissions on minimum wage review
Today is the deadline for members of the public to make written submissions to the Minimum Wage Advisory Commission reviewing the national minimum wage.
Submissions can be made to the Ministry of Labour and Social Security, located at 1F North Street in downtown, Kingston.
Persons submitting recommendations may be asked to appear before the Commission in support of their written correspondence.
The National Minimum Wage was last increased on March 1, 2016, moving from $5,600 to $6,200 for a 40-hour workweek.
The Minimum Wage for Industrial Security Guards was also increased from 8 thousand 198 to $8,854 weekly.
Meanwhile, the Commission says it will be hosting a series of islandwide consultations to garner public interest and participation.
The forums are being scheduled from June 20 to July 13.
