Some residents of St Thomas are upset they were not included in initial plans for the redevelopment of the old Goodyear factory.

Earlier this month, Prime Minister, Andrew Holness, announced that the Government intends to transform the 25-acre property into a modern-day township.

Subsequently, the Factories Corporation of Jamaica indicated that some $4.8 billion will be invested in the project.

However, residents voiced several concerns at a stakeholders meeting last night.

Among them was Chair of the Team St Thomas Highway to Development, Marsha Ford-Bryan, who said although she welcomes any type of development in St Thomas, residents should have been included in the decision-making process.
