Westbound lane on Mandela Highway to be closed over the weekend

The National Works Agency (NWA) is advising motorists using the Mandela Highway that a section of the westbound lane will be closed to facilitate drainage improvement works tomorrow and Sunday.

Communication and customer services Manager, Stephen Shaw, says the section of the lane heading out of Kingston, between the Ferry Police Station and the Fresh River Bridge, will be affected.

He says traffic will be diverted onto the newly created embankment in the middle section of the roadway, during the period.

The NWA says the works are necessary to alleviate flooding in the vicinity of the Hydel Group of Schools.

It says repairs are expected to be complete by Monday.
