J'can man among six nabbed in Antiguan drug bust
A Jamaican man was among six people arrested by Antigua's National Drug and Money Laundering Control Policy (ONDCP) in a drug raid which resulted in more than one million Eastern Caribbean dollars in illegal drugs being seized over the weekend.
The authorities say 295 pounds of marijuana was seized during the operation and that the six men, including nationals from St Vincent and the Grenadines and Jamaica, are most likely to appear in court tomorrow.
The Antiguan crime fighting agency says three of its nationals were caught in the Sea View Farm area, with 157.8 pounds of compressed ganja estimated to value EC$631,200.
It says it suspects that the drugs seized during the operations originated out of South America.
