Portland man stabbed to death over coconuts

A Portland man is now in police custody following the stabbing death of another man over a bag of coconut in the community of Norwich last evening.

Dead is 21-year-old Adrian Wynter.

The suspect, whose identity has been withheld, is the owner of a property in that community.

It’s reported that he was at a house when he saw Wynter coming from his property with a bag on his head.

He reportedly confronted Wynter and demanded a search of the bag.

The bag was searched and a large number of coconuts was discovered inside.

The two men then reportedly became embroiled in a heated argument.

During the confrontation, the property owner allegedly pulled a knife and stabbed Wynter in the abdomen.

Wynter was taken to the Port Antonio Hospital where he died while undergoing treatment.

Meanwhile, the police have reiterated an appeal to residents to settle their disputes peacefully.
