Church Teachers College principal is new JTA president-elect

Garth Anderson, principal of Church Teachers’ College is the new president elect of the Jamaica Teachers Association (JTA).

Anderson gained 5,024 votes to finish ahead of the other contenders, Owen Speid, principal of Rousseau Primary (4,622 votes) and Wayne Mullings, principal, Louise Bennett Coverly All-Age (3,814 votes).

A total of 13,460 votes were cast in the election which was held from June 19-23.

Anderson will be officially proclaimed at the official opening of the JTA’s Annual Conference scheduled for the Hilton Rose Hall Resort and Spa, in Montego Bay, August 21-23.
