PATH increase effective June 1
The long-announced increased payments under the Programme of Advancement through Health and Education (PATH) came into effect on June 1.
Information Minister Ruel Reid told journalists at a post Cabinet media briefing yesterday that the Cabinet had approved increases to PATH beneficiaries. This will see them getting an average increase of 30 per cent in benefits.
The increase will result in a hike in the base benefit from $400 to $600 per month per child.
The Cabinet has also approved a revised graduation strategy in the programme. This will require persons receiving benefits to reapply to PATH after three and a half years of participation.
