Section of Mannings Hill Road to be closed for three months

The National Works Agency (NWA) will be closing a section of Mannings Hill Road in St Andrew this weekend for three months to carry out repairs in the vicinity of Lawrence Avenue and Sullivan Avenue.

Manager of Communication and Customer Services at the NWA, Stephen Shaw, says the invert of a gully in the vicinity was damaged and the road surface scoured due to the inadequacy of existing drainage facilities.

He says the repairs to be undertaken will seek to rectify this issue and will include the construction of a concrete box culvert, concrete U-drains, retaining walls and gully inverts.

During the closure, the alternate routes will be Constant Spring Grove to Constant Spring Road then on to Saxthorpe Avenue or the reverse.

Motorists can also use Lawrence Avenue to Sullivan Place then on to Sullivan Avenue.

Motorists are being advised to obey the instructions of flag persons and posted warning signs.
