Holness heads to CARICOM meeting in Grenada
Prime Minister Andrew Holness has left the island to attend the 38th Regular Meeting of the Conference of the Heads of Government of CARICOM in Grenada.
The meeting runs from July 4-6.
A release from the Office of the Prime Minister said the forum provides an opportunity for “Heads of Government to engage in discussions on issues of critical importance to the region. It also provides an opportunity to develop innovative programmes of action in response to the challenges facing the Community in the areas of security, trade and economic development.”
The Prime Minister is accompanied by Senator Kamina Johnson Smith, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade, officials from the Ministry and Press Secretary in the Office of the Prime Minister.
Holness returns on July 7, during his absence, Minister without Portfolio in the Office of the Prime Minister, Dr Horace Chang, will be in charge of the government.
