Crime not a deterrent to investing in Jamaica – former Digicel boss
Former Digicel Jamaica boss, Barry O'Brien, has declared that crime is not a deterrent to investing in Jamaica.
He says he's currently scouting for investment opportunities on the island.
Speaking on Independent Talk this morning, O'Brien, who is now a partner in the new private equity investment outfit Williams Caribbean Capital, says the economic indicators in Jamaica are looking positive.
He says his firm is looking to take advantage of the investment opportunities that are opening up.
The former Digicel Jamaica CEO says Jamaica is looking increasingly attractive to international investors.
He says the focus will be on investing in companies that have a strong management structure and high growth potential in Jamaica and the wider Caribbean.
O'Brien says Williams Caribbean Capital will be closing its first investment deal in two weeks and is actively in the process of pursuing and closing more deals.
