The Jamaica Environment Trust Schools' Environment Programme, now in its 19th year, awards outstanding achievement and showcases top schools that participate in the programme. This encourages students to become stewards of the environment as they learn more about it and investigate real-life environmental problems. The students then display their research at the event, which is judged by environmental education and conservation practitioners along with representatives from sponsors. Awards are also made for exceptional efforts in schools' campus-based environmental work. NCB Foundation donated $250,000 towards the initiative.
