Carmen Bartlett, regional manager of JN Money Services (JNMS) USA Inc South East, was recently honoured for her 20 years of service to the remittance company and the region.

The award was presented during a celebratory dinner to mark JNMS USA Inc's 20th anniversary in Florida, at the Renaissance Plantation Hotel in Plantation, Florida.

"Mrs Bartlett's legacy is tied to what we have achieved as a company here at JNMS USA South East Region. She will probably tell you that she wrote up the first transaction to send money to Jamaica. She can relate all the history of this location," said Horace Hines, acting general manager of JN Money Services, owners and operators of JN Money.

Bartlett worked with the Jamaica National Group prior to her appointment as South East Regional manager in Florida.

"We salute Mrs Bartlett for her hard work and commitment during her 20 years here, as well as her previous years with the Jamaica National Group. We thank you for your service and dedication," said Earl Jarrett, chief executive officer of the Jamaica National Group, parent company of JNMS USA Inc.

In accepting her award, Bartlett recalled her early days, which were challenging as the team had to send remittances by fax and go door-to-door to promote the viability of the JN Money Transfer product.

"I was at 24th Street, where we started, and then I moved to an office. And while I enjoyed the new office, I missed connecting with our clients. Therefore, I moved back to 24th Street," she explained.

"I felt that I didn't need an enclosed office because I was a part of the day-to-day interactions with the community. I enjoyed serving them. That is what love and respect are about. If you give your customers love and respect, you will earn it from them in return," she said.
