MAY PEN, Clarendon:

Only a few weeks ago, mother of four Orentha Watt was in despair as she contemplated how her children would be making it back to school for the new academic year.

Her 11-year-old son, Oneil McKenzie, received 13 awards at his graduation and is set to be enrolled at Clarendon College come September.

The Gleaner carried her story on Thursday, July 13, and since then, there has been an outpouring of love from readers who were touched by her plight and came forward to assist.

An overjoyed Watt could hardly find the words to thank those who took the time to offer assistance as, she said, the love and support shown has ensured that her son's school fee will be paid and her being able to secure help for the others as well.

"I am so grateful, I must thank God for motivating others to help. I must say thanks to everyone who reached out to help. I also thank The Gleaner for bringing my plight so that others could be aware and touched enough to help," she said.
