For the upcoming academic year, 50 Grade Six Achievement Test (GSAT) students will be receiving full access to social learning website EduFocal following sponsorship to the tune of $100,000 by Rainforest Seafoods.

The manufacturing company's contribution was announced at EduFocal's annual awards ceremony at the Jamaica Pegasus hotel on July 26.

Twenty students - ten GSAT and ten Caribbean Secondary Examination Council (CSEC) - were awarded at the ceremony for being top users of the website that allows access to content from the GSAT and CSEC curricula, and enhances the learning experience through games, quizzes and other engaging activities.

Rainforest's sponsorship of year-long access for the 50 students follows closely with the company's commitment to contributing to Jamaica's education system and national development.

Marketing manager of Rainforest Seafoods, Bethany Young, endorsed EduFocal as an innovative platform for the delivery of educational content.

"Their innovative edge is aligned with Rainforest's mandate to be technologically efficient and advanced, so we were happy to offer 50 students the opportunity to access their platform," Young said.
