JCC says delays at Kingston Freeport Terminal won't affect businesses, economy
President of the Jamaica Chamber of Commerce (JCC), Larry Watson, says the delay in clearing containers at the Kingston Freeport Terminal is not expected to affect businesses.
Watson says most businesses have adequate inventory to last until containers are cleared.
The JCC president says the intervention of the government and the Port Authority of Jamaica yesterday in resolving the situation between the management of the Kingston Freeport terminal Limited and truckers averted the possibility of the protest affecting businesses and the country's growth targets.
Yesterday, a number of business interests expressed concern the standstill at KFTL would result in huge losses for their operations, especially those involved in exporting goods.
