Reid to meet with St Andrew High School

Education minister Ruel Reid has announced that he along with permanent secretary Dean-Roy Bernard, will be meeting with persons at the St Andrew High School for Girls on August 18.

In a tweet on Wednesday, Reid said that he expects that the meeting will resolve the issues.

"My fellow Jamaicans I have asked PS (permanent secretary) to meet with SAHS (St Andrew High School For Girls) and I will meet with them also on August 18 to resolve all issues. Peace and love." he tweeted.

The all-girl institution took the minister to task after he referred to it and other schools as extortionists and corrupt, at a post-Cabinet press briefing at Jamaica House recently.

Reid has since withdrawn his statement.
