300 pounds of ganja seized, $1.6m value
Charges are pending against two men who were allegedly held with over 300 pounds of ganja which have an estimated street value of approximately $1.6 million.
The police say the men were held by personnel attached to the St Elizabeth Proactive Investigations Unit on Monday.
The police say about 9 o’clock a team was conducting a vehicular checkpoint operation when the driver of a Toyota Corolla motor car was signalled to stop.
The driver disobeyed and sped off, but later crashed in a ditch.
The police say the two men were held in the motor vehicle which was searched and 20 parcels of ganja found.
