Petrojam says fire won't affect deliveries of petroleum products

Petrojam says a fire that engulfed a tank at the refinery this morning will not affect deliveries of petroleum products.

The state-owned oil refinery says its loading facilities are open and tankers are being loaded.

In a statement issued this morning, Petrojam said one of its tanks caught fire about 4 o'clock this morning.

It says the fire was extinguished by a joint team from the Jamaica Fire Brigade and the refinery, which activated its Emergency Response Plan.

There are no reports of injuries or loss of life.

The cause of the fire has not yet been determined.

Cooling down operations continue.
