TAJ changes Saturday opening hours for traffic ticket amnesty
Tax Administration Jamaica (TAJ) will adjust its Saturday operating times, as motorists make traffic ticket payments during the traffic ticket amnesty now on.
Tomorrow, the following offices will operate between the hours of 10 a.m and 2 p.m. to facilitate members of the public paying their outstanding traffic ticket fines:
- Constant Spring
- Montego Bay
- Spanish Town
- May Pen
- St Ann's Bay
The Portmore Tax Office will continue its regular Saturday opening time (10 a.m.-4 p.m.).
Motorists have the option of paying online or utilising designated eSpots in any of the listed locations.
Online payments can be made via the TAJ portal at www.jamaicatax.gov.jm.
Traffic-ticket payers are reminded that they must have either the ticket number or the traffic ticket itself to facilitate easy payment.
Business persons filing their monthly general consumption tax (GCT) returns for the month of July will also be able to avail themselves of the Saturday convenience ahead of the August 31 due date.
All usual weekday services, including the renewal of drivers' licences and property tax payment, will be accessible. However, audit and compliance activities will not be available during the Saturday operation.
Persons may also do business on Saturday, August 26, September 30, and on the last two Saturdays of the amnesty, October 21 and 28.
Queries about any outstanding tickets can be directed to the Jamaica Constabulary Force's Call Centre at 948-0411 Mondays to Thursdays (8:30 a.m.-5 p.m.), Friday (8:30 a.m.-4 p.m.) and any scheduled Saturday opening date.
