$4 million worth of cocaine seized in St Elizabeth

One man is now in custody following the seizure of more than $4 million worth of cocaine in St Elizabeth on Thursday.

His identity has not been released.

The police say he is to be interviewed in the presence of his attorney before being charged possession of, dealing in, taking steps to export and trafficking cocaine.

The Narcotics Police report that a team was conducting operations along Coke Road in the parish when they intercepted a Toyota Fielder motorcar.

The motor vehicle was reportedly searched and four parcels with white powdery substance believed to be cocaine weighing approximately 3.5 kilograms were found.
