Farm gangsters engage Clarendon police in gun battle
The Clarendon police say criminals in the Farm area of May Pen have been attacking police personnel who have been maintaining a presence in the crime-torn community.
Head of the Clarendon Police Division, Superintendent Vendolyn Cameron Powell, said police personnel came under heavy gunfire today as they patrol the Farm community.
She says the violence is being fuelled by reprisals and counter reprisals among warring factions in the area.
In the meantime, Cameron Powell says the police have identified a number of men who they believe can provide vital information on the ongoing violence.
Among them are: Shandel Williams, otherwise called Shawn and Thirsty; Machedo Thompson, otherwise called Pops; Marlon McCarthy, otherwise called Jay; Nyran Hamilton, also known as Prento; and Kenrick Scott, also called Brady.
They are being asked to report to the May Pen police for questioning.
These men who are known only as Shane, Tuco, Joel and Martin are also being asked to report to the May Pen police.
